In this article I will show you how to integrate Moosend and WordPress, as there used to be a Moosend plugin for WordPress that was discontinued.
Nowadays, integration has to be manual. I used three free plugins to do this: MailOptin, WP Code and Moosend Website Conector.
To integrate Moosend into WordPress, I followed the following steps:
- Add the API into an integration plugin called “MailOptin”.
In WordPress, go to “Integrations” and find “Moosend”.
Enter API Key value in the field. You can find your API in your Moosend account by clicking under your account settings of your Moosend Account (Account -> Settings -> API key).
- You enter the API value in the field and Save changes. It should read “Connected”.
- Add the Moosend installation plugin into “Code Snippets/WP Code”.
Once installed, you will find the plugin in the left hand side menu of your WordPress dashboard. Click “Code snippets” and then “Add new”.
Name it Moosend Connection Script and paste the HTML code from Moosend.
- You add it as “Site Wide Header”.
- Add the Moosend ID into the “Moosend Website Tracking plugin/Moosend Website Contector”. This is to add a tracking code.
Add your API key (same as before) into the field “Enter your Website ID” and Save changes.
Now it should be all connected and you are ready to use the basic functionalities of Moosend in your WordPress site.
Now that your Moosend integration is completed, check out how to create a free automated email campaign in Moosend. Also, you can use the email automations for various purposes, like sending product recommendations to your audience. Check out that article if you want to learn to do that and monetise your email automation efforts.
Moosend is a very easy, cost-effective way to implement email into your website, although it does have some small glitches. For example, it can duplicate members sometimes. Here is how to fix the differences between member activity in 2 email lists, as it has happened to me quite often. If you don´t mind these little things and you are on a budget though, Moosend can be a good email option.
And once you have your automations ready, you can leverage the power of artificial intelligence to help with the email copy. I have used a lot and really can save a lot of time.
And finally, now that you have successfully integrated Moosend with your WordPress site, and are ready to use some of the previous techniques, plan your email strategy out with my free email content planner template.
